The truth is, they’re designed for exactly that kind of everyday use. They help stop those little rings caused by condensation and damp patches that can build up on wood or painted surfaces. Plus, hot drinks won’t stick to them in the same way they do on leather. 

Another hesitation is usually about cleaning. Nobody wants something that feels high maintenance for such a small item. The good thing with jute is you don’t really need to wash them; in fact, we recommend you don’t. Most of the time a quick shake or a light wipe is enough. If something spills, they can be left to air dry naturally.

Some people also wonder if they’ll look too rustic or out of place. In reality however, they tend to blend in quite easily with everyday mugs, crockery, and table surfaces.

A: Yes, to a degree. Jute is a natural fibre, so it can take in small spills. It’s best to let them air dry afterwards rather than trying to soak or scrub them. Plus, we always advise against using harsh chemical cleaning products on them.

Q: Can they be used with both hot and cold drinks?

A: Yes, they work well for everyday hot drinks like tea and coffee, as well as cold drinks that tend to produce condensation.

Q: How should I store them when they’re not in use?

A: They come in a small jute basket when we send them to you. You can store them in there, so they stay neat and away from exposure to moisture and dust.

Q: Do they need to be replaced often?

A: Not usually. With normal use and basic care, they tend to last a good while. Most wear is cosmetic rather than functional.
